What math classes should you take in order to become an accountant?
Math Help
I am taking Trig and Pre-cal my junior year, and Calculus and Statistics my senior year. I don’t know if my school offers Calculus AB or BC, but I know that I am taking the class. I’m on the 4×4 block schedule, so I will be able to concentrate on one math subject at a time. Thanks in advance.

According to my accountant – if you ask him “What is 2 + 2″ he’ll reply “What sort of figure did you have in mind?”. Many of them seem to require a sort of “Flexible Maths”.
As long as you can competently work with figures (basics, not calculus, trig etc) it’s more about understanding finance and tax than being able to integrate a function!
A little more involved if you want to be an Actuary – more statistics and probability.
Best of luck

I took BC and dropped it. It owned my life. I mean, why take BC and get a B when you can just take AB and get an A? Save your precious GPA and take AB!
Also, doesn’t your high school have any intro accounting courses? Mine did. (But I’m also from Chicago suburbs.)

Don’t worry so much about that. Make sure that you are proficient in statistics. Also, you may want to consider a minor in computer science to gain an advantage.
