    measure stuff out…??
play with fractions (cutting butter and what not)
everything with baking is just basic math, no calculus to speak of!

When your cooking you use math in to tell

what temp the oven should be on. If two items are going in and one says to cook at 350 for 20 mins and the other says to cook at 400 for 10 mins. You would put the temp on 350 for 20 mins for both items. See the one for 400 will be cooking on a much lower heat which means it will take a few more minutes to cook. Point they should both be done at the same time. Depending on some ovens.

You also need to know math to tell time so you will know when to take the food out of the oven or off the stove.

You need to know measurements so you will know the difference from a teaspoon and a tablespoon. You wouldn’t want a tablespoon of salt in your food. Plus you need to know how many cups to use so you don’t put more then called for.
Ex a cheese cake calls for a cup and a half of milk. You wouldn’t want to put more then that or it will be to soupy. Or to little or it will not taste right.

You need to know math so you can add up how much food you need when you go to the gro store. EX. 2 packs of hamburger meat and 5 cans of green beans.

You also need to know how to add up the cost of the food before hand (estimate) so you will know how much money you will need when you get to the store.

    EX.
    1 pk is 6.00 you have 2 packs so thats 6.00 x’s 2 = $12.00
1 can of green beans is $.40. 4 cans of green beans x’s .40=$1.60

Plus you will need to know the tax in your area to estimate the over all estimate total of your gro bill..

    I hope this helps.
