What should I pay a math tutor here on a college campus?
Wednesday, April 1st, 2009Math Help
Hi, I would like to ask an SI (Student Instructor) Math Tutor to give me private math tutoring lessons. He is also a student at my college, and a 19- going on 20- year old sophomore. (I am a freshman). He would be tutoring me in a Calculus level course. He did very well in his Calculus II class last year and has thus been certified to teach other students who need additional help in the Calculus course. His experience in College mathematics level tutoring, I believe, however is really only limited to one full year. I would like to pay him for private one-on-one tutoring sessions. What do you think would be a reasonable price to pay him for tutoring once a week, right here on campus?

How much math does one need to become successful?
Thursday, March 19th, 2009Math Help
I am a freshman in college, and my major has nothing to with math. It is more art affiliated. But I’ve always had great interest in math and I I know knowledge is power, that is one reason I didnt stop at Algebra 2 after I graduated from High school. I am currently taking a Statistics class, and I wonder if I should take calculus next semester.

So this is a question to all the people who have graduated from college and are working and living a happy life.
How much math did you take?
Have you ever wished you had taken a math course you didnt take?
Should I take calculus next semester?
