How do you convince someone to try in school, mainly math?
Math Help
I have a friend who doesn’t try in school. I know that it’s none of my Business, but she’s my best friend. She’s a really smart girl, and I know that she’ll regret not trying later on in life. Any suggestions to help persuade her to try harder? Also if anyone could list careers involving math.

she is probably not interested in a career involving math, but if she wants any kind of career, she is going to need a high school diploma. talk to her about how her chances of staying above the poverty level (and thus being more independent, not getting herself stuck in some dead-end relationship or being forever dependent upon her parents) are greatly increased if she has her diploma.

Just have a chat with her and tell her that she really needs to do well in maths if she wants to get into university and get a good job. And explain to her that without a good education you won’t go very far in life. And even thought it seems boring now she will be glad in the end because she will have a good job and money to buy nice things

Why don’t you have an adult take you guys to the local homeless shelter or to the local courthouse when the public arraignments take place. (Make sure you have an adult with you for safety). Let her see first hand what life is like when you aren’t prepared to deal with it. Trust me, math class won’t look nearly so bad after that cause life doesn’t get any uglier.
Any good councilor can help her decide on a career.
PS, you are a good friend.
