Math HelpMy cousin’s getting homeschooled and her mom wanted me to help prepare her fall homework, so I’m going to check some things out of the library for her but I can’t really remember what exactly I learned in 6th grade in the whole math/science department. Thanks!

Math HelpEnglish is my second language, but i have a BA already from a well known university here in California. I recently am thinking in continuing my education. I want to become a math teacher; i prefer to teach at college level, because i want to teach either at night or on Saturdays. But if you also have information on teaching math at High school level, that will also help. Please advise if you have any knowledge. Your answers are greatly appreciated.

Math HelpI’m a math tutor who teaches students high school math and Calculus. Are there any programs out there that assist me in creating questions and tests? Mainly, I’m interested in creating problems using the various mathematical symbols (something that can’t easily be done in Microsoft Word), the integral symbol, and fractions (x/y does not look like how i want x divided by y to look like, and neither does x^2, or “x squared”.
What I’m hoping for are math teachers that can enlighten me. I want to create printable sheets of questions to help me in teaching my students.

Math HelpFor the teacher ed. program, they won’t even allow me to take like English Literature or something, I am required to take either art appreciation or theater appreciation, and I certainly fail to see how this is productive for me as a future math teacher. They at least should let me have more choice, like poetry or creative writing if I am required to take a nonsense course.
Does anyone see the point in making a math major take one of those courses? The history and writing and psychology electives are bad enough, but understandable, but this part is ridiculous to me.

Math HelpI have tried taking regular math classes in college, but I can’t learn it out of a book. Classes, teachers and tutors did not help much either. But I have heard that they can teach math differently now. I hear they can do it on a computer and that helps some people. But I don’t know what, if any thing will help me.
I tried taking algebra I Twice and failed both times. Even when I went to class all the time and had a tutor.
What else can I do now?

Math HelpI’m about to start student-teaching pre-algebra to high school students. It is first thing in the morning and they don’t want to be there. They never do their homework and try to avoid all classwork. They are never excited about math. How can I get them involved and make it interesting? Right now, they’re learning how to simplify fractions.

Math HelpI am applying for a full-time math teaching position at a community college. I am also working full time doing research. If I obtain a teaching position at this college do I have to be there all day or just when I teach class and meet with students ? I would like to do both jobs.
I would like to hear from those who teach at the community college level. What’s your daily schedule like ?

Math HelpEither a middle school teacher or a high school teacher.
What classes would I need to take? What degrees are required? And what could I expect becoming a teacher overall?
Would love comments from math or other teachers? Would greatly appreciate it.
please and thank you
